It depends on the material. Is it American Brilliant Cut Glass or pottery? Be very careful with ABCG as you can permanently etch it with strong acids.
You might want to try a bottle brush.

I sometimes use denture cleaning tabs from the dollar store.
Crushed ice and salt 1/4 full. Swish it around.
Soak with white cleaning vinegar. Then use a bottle brush to scrub if needed. The best one I've every used is KOCHBLUME. It's silicone and flexible. I haven't found anything it won't get into and you can sanitize by pouring boiling water over it or run in the dishwasher.
