Hi Laine, here's a great guide to finding where the roof leaks - https://www.dummies.com/home-garden/exteriors/roofing/how-to-find-a-leak-in-a-roof/ The torch one worked for us

On a clear day, take a garden hose and spray small sections of the roof until you see where the leak is. You can try to reverse investigate if you have water coming in on a rainy day but it's so difficult.
Hello Laine! Another question you submitted referred to a mobile home roof. Maybe this information will help you!

We just had this experience, water was coming into the ceiling of our small back extension. Although this extensions roof is not too high I did not want my husband climbing a ladder investigating. We had one man look at it and he identified leak but never came to repair it. Were lucky enough to find someone else who was a good worked and did it for minimal charge. Leak was coming through ceiling on the left side, but entry was on the roof on the right side. Tricky to figure this out on a big roof.
Laine...You usually see water spots on the ceiling and it will be in that area. Maybe a shingle has blown up and needs to be repaired or replaced. Good luck
Go up in the attic to check
Hi, Laine!
Just a thought (because this happened to me every few years) but it’s possible that the roof vents are leaking. The sealant around them can become brittle and crack in the sun. A product like Henrys Wet Patch can be applied to stop any potential leaks. I hope this helps!
