Hi Denise,
What I do use a really simple way...heat to 150 degrees and then shut the oven off. if it has a pilot light shut that off too. Bring a pan of water to a boil and put it in the heated oven. Pour ammonia into a dish and set this in the heated oven over the boiling water.
Shut the oven door and let the fumes do the work overnight. The next day ventilate well and remove the ammonia, save for re-use. Then just wipe away (be sure to have protective gloves on.
This is what I do and it works. https://www.hometalk.com/diy/clean/ovens/how-to-clean-your-oven-with-just-baking-soda-29142677
How to Clean Your Oven With Just Baking Soda!
I use a razor blade to scrape off burnt on food!
Soak a small rag in Ammonia and place it on an oven rack. Close the door and keep it closed overnight. In morning the grease should just wipe out with a cloth. You may need to use a sponge and scrub it out. If your oven is gas, you must make sure the pilot light is out.
I use a plastic scraper from the auto store. Then I use liquid oven cleaner, you can get this at the 99c store. Or you can use straight ammonia and like Mogie said leave it overnight.

If your oven has an oven cleaning feature, you can try running it. But you should do it on a day when you can open the windows, since it will get smoky!
I normally turn on my self cleaning mode. Then I follow up with Easy Off.
Denise....Most oven cleaners will work but I suggest that after you get it clean, purchase the mats that you put on the over floor and when it gets dirty it can be removed and just wiped off. Mine is black and blends well with my eye level oven. I love it...the funny thing is...since I received it as a gift I have never really had much spill in my oven...crazy huh?
Sprinkle with baking soda and then spray with vinegar. Leave it to work and then wipe with a damp cloth.

Hi Denise: What I use is a mixture of white vinegar and cream of tartar (the dry stuff). Make a paste about as thick as peanut butter, start with a little vinegar as the cream of tartar dissolves quickly, and spread it on the area. If it's a thick buildup, let it sit for about 5 minutes and then scrape off with a plastic putty knife. Reapply if necessary and then wipe clean with a wet cloth. That should do it.
