You could try using a safe school glue like Elmer’s or perhaps try hand stitching it together. I wouldn’t use a strong toxic glue.

Can we see what is broken? I have a few quiet books and they have so many different parts, and it totally depends on what is broken to tell you how to fix it.
Without seeing it I would say you might have to hand sew some of it back together, or super glue might work.
Depending on which part broke, binding the book back together, sewing a torn page, glue, or even clear packing tape may fix your damage.
