How do I organize a 10x11 room as office/sewing/guest room?

This video will show you how to make a Murphy bed and desk in one. That would take care of part of your room. This guy did a beautiful job on this build.

I would definitely look into a murphy bed that turns into a desk. For storage, you might want to hang some shelves.

Can you use a single size bed or do you need a larger bed? Have you thought about using a blow up bed? I have a room of similar size that can handle a queen size air bed on one side, a desk on the end and a bookcase on the second side with craft supplies. You could probably fit a sewing machine in that space too. Plot it out on graph paper before you decide what to do. (Or use an App if you can find one) Most guests don't care if they share a room that normally has other "duties", they just want a place to sleep. If you get a good air bed, they can be very comfortable. Don't waste your money on a cheapo one though. You can take them down and store then away when you don't have guests. Wishing you the best.

I have a craft room that doubles as a guest bedroom and we use a blow up mattress. The mattress is really quite comfortable. If you have a closet in the room, you could add shelving and boxes or bins to it to get ample storage.

There are loads of ways to do this and it’s going to depend on what you have and how you need to use the room. Evaluate what you have, use the search bar at the top left on Hometalk for ideas, and go from there. Multipurpose and multifunction are your best bets.

Evaluate how often you truly need a guest room. It may be that you decide to just purchase a good blow-up mattress or find a friend who has one you can borrow one from when you have guests. You might decide to let your guests use your bedroom and you take the low-up mattress. Using vertical space for storage is the best use of you walls. A desk might be able to be used as a sewing area as well as a desk. Think how best to arrange the room by working through each time the room is used as an office and how much time is spent sewing. Look through diy sites and look for hints and tips to make best use of space. You might be able to use most of a closet for storage and have fun figuring out your project, make a plan and then proceed.

A blow up mattress is a great problem solver, and fairly cheap compared to installing a Murphy bed. Use the walls for vertical storage.

For a flat surface, maybe a fold down board attached to the studs in the wall for strength. The board would be hinged, and attach legs for support in the open position.
