Pour boiling water down the drain. Then add a half cup of baking soda and let it sit for a minute. Pour a cup of vinegar and a cup of hot water down the drain. Cover loosely and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Pour another pot of boiling water down the drain to flush out the clog.
1 cup baking soda and 1 cup white vinegar then cover. Sit for 10 minutes and pour boiling water. Repeat if needed.

Others have given you some good ideas. I'd like to recommend that you also get a sink plunger. There are different shapes to plungers, and it can help to have both a toilet plunger and a sink plunger because obviously you don't want to share a single plunger between the two! :-)
