Chalk paint is a good choice, covers most surfaces.
Hello Kim,
If doors are Plastic or Formica finish, suggest using ESP (Easy Surface Preparation) painted on first, then your paint choice.........Hope that helps!
Take a good photo or one of the doors/drawers to the paint department of your home improvement store and ask for their advice. They will have products and ideas you may have never thought of!
Kim: chalk paint will go over any surface --- and one color would unite that space.
I agree with chalk paint. Seal with wax. Will look great.
Do not chalk paint kitchen cabinets and seal with wax. Wax attracts oil and dust, and makes a mess in the kitchen. A lot of work would have to be refinished within a year. Better yet, very lightly sand the cabinets with 220 grit then prime with a good stain blocking primer, Kilz or BIN123. Then paint the color of your choice. If you have a spray painter it will eliminate the brush marks, if not use a good mohair roller and brush. Go to a paint store and talk to them, they will get you the right equipment.
You can paint mobile home cabinets just like any cabinet. I would clean then with TSP first and then paint Kilz latex primer on first then two coats of a good quality paint over the Kilz.
