How can I make very simple paper butterflies?

Cut out circle in card, fold in half. Draw "B" shape Larger loop at top and smaller at bottom. Cut this out , open up and use as template. If you want larger or smaller, repeat process. If you fold your paper or fabric you will be able to cut out more than one at a time. Hope that helps.......

Maybe you could fold the paper and cut the butterflies out just like you would valentine hearts.
