How can I clean orange highlighter out of blue jeans?

Hi ! I know this will sound weird but ... Folex carpet cleaner will take out all sorts of stains , including ink !!! I found it at home depot for around $6 . This stuff works so well , I keep some in a spray bottle in my laundry room ! Good luck !!!!

Hi Janet, have you tried applying alcohol or fingernail polish remover to that area. That might work well by having a paper towel on the opposite side of the fabric to absorb the alcohol and the highlighter color. Maybe you'll need to scrub the area with a toothbrush to loosen the line of the highlighter too.

To remove the highlighter treat the fabric with rubbing alcohol, be sure to have several thicknesses of paper towels under the area so it does not bleed through. You can blot it on using cotton balls or a rag. Next apply a pre-wash spot remover or dish soap to the area and let it set for about 15-20 min. Launder as usual using a powdered bleach product plus detergent in your washer.

Try covering the orange with a blue highlighter.

If permanent marker and it doesn't come off when you wash the article, the best bet is to make a feature of it. (Draw something in black pen and colour it in using other colour or colours, or Add a Patch or an Artistic Darn or maybe a secret pocket!

Hi Janet, here is a couple of suggestions for you, hope they help

Wipe the highlighter mark with rubbing alcohol. Pour a small amount on a wash cloth and rub lightly. Rinse with warm water.

Pour 2 tbsp. of liquid laundry detergent on the stain. Rub it in vigorously. Let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes.
