How to remaove coffee stains from metal or plastic containers?
Soak with some white vinegar and baking soda overnight. Rinse really well!
Hi Beryll: Check these sites out for some assistance:
Bleach or powder dishwashing detergent. Not the tabs the kind that comes in a box.
Try Magic Eraser.
Metal - use an abrasive. Start with something mild, like baking soda or white toothpaste.
If that doesn’t work, then go on to Bar Keepers Friend.
If that doesn’t work, then on to Comet or Ajax.
Some plastics stain with heat. As in the stain is not solely on the surface.
If the stains are fresh, clean them with water and a mild dish detergent. Spray the area with a kitchen cleaner and allow it to sit for a several minutes before wiping it away. If the stain remains, moisten a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser with water and gently rub it over the area
Start cleaning with a paste of baking soda and water, let it set for a few hours and then using scrubbier sponge from the Dollar Tree (rough side for this), the stains should come right off. Repeat if necessary.
If this is not doing the job, you can up the ante with more abrasive cleaners such as cleansers.
I wrote a post on tough stains that might help you - https://chascrazycreations.com/13-tough-stains-and-how-to-remove-them/
Baking soda's cleansing properties are nothing new, and work as a great stain and odor remover for Tupperware, as well. Simply make a thick-ish paste of warm water and baking soda and rub it into the inside the container. Let it sit for at least one day, then rinse it out thoroughly.
Try Soapy water or Bar keepers Friend.......good luck!
