I love painting baubles, plastic you can give a light sand and use Gesso one light covering will do and leave to completely dry. Then you can use acrylic paint, chalk paint, any paint really then let dry and cover with a water based sealer, or varnish, spray or brush on. Be patient with the drying process it's worth it. Hope this helps
