How do I paint this table the same color as the clock hands?
I have this table in the entryway and can't stand the black. I am putting this clock in the adjacent room(with the same green walls) and want to paint the table the color of the clock hands. It looks like black or mahogany color covered with a white and distressed. I have a few ideas of how to achieve this look but I've never done this before so it will probably turn out a mess. Will it even look good? The wall the shelf is against is green however the other walls are a light gray. The first picture is of the clock hands, the other 3 of the table and surrounding area. The other pictures are just to give a sense of the place(Please don't mind the mess we just moved in & are still fixing up the place).

I think you're on the right track with the black, covered with white and distressed. Try it in an inconspicuous spot first and see how you like it.
Here's a tutorial that shows you how to dry brush. Dry brushing over your painted finish with another color might work for you. There's some good pictures that might help you out.

Hi ! Chalk paint is the way to go ! No prepping , except to make sure it's clean and dust free ! Then paint one coat , let it dry and see if you need a second coat .when dry lightly sand the edges and here and there , you will see the darker base show through , to give it an aged and worn look . Then seal it with a sealing wax . This comes in clear ( if you want to keep it just the way it is ) or antique finish . This goes on like a stain , brush it on , then wipe in/ off , it will dry to a hard finish , not waxy ! Try it on the back of the unit to see how it looks !
Oh, the other pictures didn't come through. Can you post them? Would help a lot
I have painted a base coat on items and then later added another color and wiped off the majority before it dries.
One other idea is selecting one of the gray colors from the clock hand and painting the table that color (solid).
