I have heard that vinegar will do the job.

I use baking soda and vinegar. Sprinkle baking soda on the door. Pour vinegar on the baking soda. You can use a spray bottle. I used a sponge soaked in vinegar and squeezed over the door. Let it sit, foam, and work for a while.

  • Hi, Madeline!

Try Dawn dishwashing liquid and warm water applied with a sponge then removed with a squeegee. There may be lingering grease on the glass that is making the streaks... I hope this helps!

A find microfiber cloth and water will do the trick. See if you can find one that is similar to the type of cloth that comes with glasses & sunglasses. I have some "SuperCloth" which is fantastic and also can be used on mirrors, windows, screens, and stainless steel.

Try steam cleaning the door if all else fails.

Always dry with a microfiber towel. It is not the cleaning that leaves streaks no matter WHAT cleaner or method you use. Dry with a microfiber cloth and it will ALWAYS be streak free. Same for microwave, stainless appliances and glass cooktops.

Windex has soap in it. Using anything with soap makes it difficult to leave streak-free. I use 91% isopropyl alcohol in a small, dollar store spray bottle. When first starting to use alcohol, you may need to do it several times to thoroughly remove any soaps previously used, but once it’s done, subsequent cleanings are quick. I use this for all my windows, glass doors, mirrors and glass topped tables, as well as my oven glass and the glass of my microwave door. Bonus is that it also disinfects. This alcohol will evaporate quite quickly, so you need to spray enough and wipe pretty quickly. But it works great and makes cleaning anything glass a job not dreaded- at least not dreaded as much as usual, and so much faster. For stickers on glass or mirrors or even baked on spots on oven glass, a straight edge razor can be used to gently scrap the sticker or baked on spots. For oven glass, once I’ve removed/scraped any baked on spots from the glass, I use water and a scrubby sponge that’s safe for nonstick cookware, and if needed a baking soda paste. I rinse thoroughly when I’m satisfied it’s clean, dry and then use the 91% isopropyl alcohol to go over it any remove any streaks. 91% isopropyl alcohol is the ONLY thing I use since learning this many years ago doing professional home cleaning. Happy cleaning! ☺️

If you want to clean between the glass between your oven doors, but don't want to take the door apart, you can try feeding a wire through the narrow holes on the underside of the door. For easier access to these holes, it helps to remove the drawer underneath your oven. After removing the drawer, unbend a wire hanger and straighten out one end. Wrap a couple of paper towels around the wire and secure them with a rubber band.Spray a bit of vinegar and soap ( 1:1 ) mixture onto the paper towel. Then carefully insert your “cleaning tool” through the narrow holes in the oven door and use it to wipe any brown stains on the inside of the glass. If you can’t find any access holes on the bottom of your oven door that would allow you to clean between the glass, don’t worry! You can still clean between the glass, but you might need a screwdriver to do it. Consult the owner’s manual for your oven to find out how to open up the glass panes so you can clean between them. (If you can’t find the manual, you can probably find a digital copy online by typing the make and model of your oven into Google.)
