My black vinyl floor gets grey white patches when it's buffed. What can I do?
This might help...I am not sure: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kc9lJFn08q4
Check to make sure it’s not wax. If it is, stripping is your answer. It might fix the problem even if it isn’t.
If your waxing the floor after washing it could be moisture trapped under the wax. It could also be product your using before or during buffing. Could also be the cleaner your using leaving a residue. One cup of lemon scented ammonia to one gallon hot water will remove any ground in dirt, spills, and old wax. Rinse well.
Hi Scott, I found this article online that goes into some depth on why there may be grey or white patches on your vinyl floor - https://www.familyhandyman.com/floor/vinyl-flooring/vinyl-floors-stains/
How are you buffing it? With a buffer? It may be the cleaner or polish you are using. Check manufacturer directions on their website for recommendations and corrective methods if you know the brand
You may need new products to clean and buff with. Good luck!
Hi Scott, I hope this helps you
Mix equal parts white vinegar, rubbing alcohol and warm water in a bowl. Dampen a clean cloth in the mixture and scrub the marks on the floor until they're removed, then dry the area thoroughly with a clean, dry cloth. Vinegar removes white marks caused by using too much floor cleaner.
