We use Terro ant killer available at diy stores, it works great. Ants have often paraded across our deck, we just put down the Terro on the provided square(s) in their pathway and they tear it up, no ants in 1-2 days, depending on the number of them. If you run out of squares, you can also cut a square from a pop box or another box where there is a finish on it that will not absorb the Terro. Best to you.
