    Hi Denise,

Do lots of research based on your needs, traffic patterns, quality and price of your product. Also humidity is a big factor, for us a here in a high humidity climate, we would need something that is very resistant to mold and mildew. You could also check independent reviews of people who have installed what you are looking at.

Vinyl plank flooring comes in several different types. Most of them are not waterproof. The product itself doesn't absorb water, but water can seep between the planks. Read the info carefully, the higher priced and higher quality vinyl plank products are waterproof if installed per Mfg directions. One note regarding vinyl, all vinyl is subject to expansion and contraction based on the temperature of the room. This product works best for in a temperature controlled environment.

you could have someone come out to your home with samples so you can see the different colors with your furniture and in your lighting - many flooring companies do this bringing samples of whatever type flooring you want

  • Nothing beats shopping in person at a proper flooring store. Visit at least two or three to compare quality and price. Here are a couple buying guides with tips to consider.

The new vinyl waterproof flooring is beautiful. There are many flooring stores that can help you. I know I am looking to replace my kitchen tiles with this vinyl. It is confusing, but do your research on the brands that you like. I like Armstrong so far the best. Hopefully soon I will decided which one is best for me.
