How do I clean soap scum from the shower?

I use a bunch of used fabric softener sheets saturated with vinegar. Any softener residue will remain on the glass and sheet water off. You can also use a green kitchen sponge scrubby and vinegar.

I have used the shower sprays but find the sum still stays. So scouring powder on a scouring pad works very well.

Pour one cup of baking soda into a small plastic bowl and add about one-fourth cup of distilled white vinegar, or just enough to form a thick paste. The mixture will fizz and when it stops, dip a microfiber cloth or sponge into the paste and apply to the glass doors. Let the paste remain on the glass for at least 15 minutes. Then wipe down the surfaces with a microfiber cloth and plain water. Rinse very well and dry completely to prevent spotting.

If the soap scum is particularly heavy, make the baking soda and vinegar paste as directed. In a separate bowl, pour one-half to one cup table salt. After dipping your sponge or cloth into the baking soda mixture, dip it in the table salt and begin cleaning. The table salt will add a bit more abrasiveness to the mixture, which will help to cut through the build-up.

For daily cleaning, mix one cup of distilled white vinegar, one cup of water, and one tablespoon of dishwashing detergent in a spray bottle. After a shower, spray the solution on the glass and allow it to work for several minutes and then rinse with hot water. Use a squeegee to remove water or dry the glass completely.

Heat up 1 cup of white vinegar, mix in about 1/4 cup of Dawn Premium. Not the dollar store kind, because it is too thin. When mixed, pour into a spray bottle and fill with water. Shake. Spray down the grout and let it sit overnight. In the morning rinse. If you have stubborn stains, spray again. Use this mixture a few times a week. It will keep your grout and tiles clean. Also works wonders in the toilet bowl to keep hard water stains at bay. Oh you only have to heat the vinegar one time when you add the Dawn.

THIS WILL KEEP YOUR ENTIRE BATHROOM CLEAN. I SPRAY MY SHOWER ONCE OR TWICE A WEEK. JUST LET IT GET RINSED OFF AS YOU TAKE A SHOWER. NO MUSS NO FUSS..

Hi Evelyn, as strange as it sounds, WD-40 works wonders. Apply a large amount to a soft cloth and apply to the area with the soap scum. Let set for a few minutes and then scrub well. The smell isn't very pleasant but it works like a charm.

Hi! Sounds counterintuitive, but, when I'm in the shower and see soap scum, I scrub it with a sponge and shampoo. Cheap shampoo actually works the best, and goes a long way. Then I rinse it all off and squeegee it. Nice and clean!

I have also used cheap shampoo from the dollar store. It is made to remove oil and soap. Doesn't work as well as the above, but does work.
