How do I make a carpet refresher using baking soda?

Well, I just sprinkle it on at night before bed and vacuum up in morning. Doesn't need to be complicated in order for it to work. I purchase in 15 pound bags at a local warehouse store for about $7.

You can use it straight for a no scent deodorizer or add some essential oils for a scent. 1 Tbsp baking soda with 5-6 drops of essential oils. A good way to administer is to put in a cheese dispenser like restaurants have for parmesan. If you don't have one, poke holes in a clean jar. Then you can shake it around on the carpet.

1. Combine baking soda and essential oil in a mason jar.
2. Cap and shake well to combine.
3. Remove cap and replace inner lid with construction paper.
4. Secure rim and cut off excess construction paper.
5. Poke holes in the construction paper.*
6. Apply liberally to carpets.
7. Wait at least 1-2 hours.
