o you get a mustard stain that was left on a long time.
You could try scrubing with white toothpaste. You could also try epsom salt and warm water solution, left to sit for a while before wiping it up.
Hello. Old linoleum + old stain—my instinct will be try to take some craft acrylic paint and touch it up. By applying paint over the stain he might be able to disquise it by custom match color application into an old porous surface. I hope you find the perfect solution for your problem. Good luck
Try hydrogen peroxide. It has a bleaching effect.
Try rubbing the stain with some vinegar. If that doesn't work, add some baking soda and scrub gently.
Vimar makes a good point about the old linoleum and an old stain. From what I have been reading this is very difficult to remove, if not impossible. Hopefully you or anybody else has not tried to remove it with ammonia, the ammonia reacts with the turmeric in mustard and sets the stain in.
Vinegar in water 1 part vinegar and 2 parts water may help, but the vinegar can dull the shine.
You might try baking soda, make a paste of it with water and let it set on the stain, see if that lightens it.
If you kick up the chemicals and abrasives, it might ruin the finish on your linoleum.
Best of luck to you, let us know if anything helps.
Try using a 50/50 mix of lemon scented ammonia and hot water. Removes ground in dirt, stains, and old wax. I do this once a month
Try bleach on a cloth leave on it for 1 hour mustard has turmeric in it so it will stain.if you dont want to use bleach diluted with water use straight white vinager.and let it sit.
Try pouring some white vinegar on it and let it sit for 15 minutes. Then wipe it up and see if it is coming off. If that doesn't work do it again and put some baking soda on it too. Leave for 15 minutes again and see if it comes off. Just to be safe test this on a area that is not noticeable so if it discolors you can go another direction.
No one mentioned this, so I thought I would add it. I have used Krudkutter and Goof off (at different times) to remove old stains from floors. Let it sit before scrubbing.
Hi! I usually buy both at Walmart. Either can usually be found in the paint section.
