How do I make a stable for my dog nativity scene?

My dog nativity came with a cardboard backdrop and I would like to make my own using twigs and/or popsicle sticks. All suggestions welcome. Patterns are welcome.

It came in a box that could be used as a backdrop but I wanted a stable made of wood. I found one about a week ago that cost $7.99 and it arrived yesterday. It is perfect and since my birthday is on Christmas we still have my nativity and some other decorations up. I will enjoy it before I add it to my collection of nativities. Thank you ladies for your suggestions, especially the one with the popsicle sticks. That was my first thought. As for other ideas, please ladies, realize that not all women have a man at their disposal. Really!!! My hubby has Alzheimer’s!

When I thought I'd seen everything! I have seen pictures of dogs playing cards, this is certainly new to me.

Try to make a wood frame house. Then cover the out side with twigs glued on all over it
