Hi Joan, here's a youtube video that may give you some help. If not there's a couple of other ones available too. Just go to youtube and in the menu bar ask your question. You can make them decorative in a variety of ways.

Hi Joan. Find yourself appropriately sized bookcase. Knock the back of it off. Buy radiator grating, or chicken wire, if it suits your decor. And nail or staple it on. Get trim at your local home improvement store and ask them to cut to size for you. Install with nails or staples. Paint to go with your rooms colors.
