Hi, I'm Amber Oliver! I hope if you enjoy this project you'll also stop by my blog! I think being referred to as a "plant lady" is a badge of honor. How do you know you've officially "made it" as a plant lover - your plants are growing SO WELL you have to repot them!
This fella was getting too large for his pot. I decided to divide him and repot into two separate pots.
The first thing i did was remove the whole plant from the original pot. I laid it gently on the table with the root ball in a plastic container to keep from making a mess.
Next I gently separated the pieces of the plant. You'll see my plant was comprised of three sections. I gently removed the soil around the roots to reveal each individual plant.
I was then able to repot them individually. This was also a good time to give them fresh soil so they have all the nutrients they need to get taller!
I put one plant back in the original container and the remaining two into a larger new container. Now all the plants will have enough room to grow!

It seems like mine is dying I think it might need to be repotted thank you

Are you also referring to holiday cactus? I’ve had and seen others with same dying issues!! And, I know mine wasn’t pot bound or suffering root rot from overwatering. Holiday cactus don’t behave like most cacti. But either way I’ve had and seen them in all sorts of conditions. I’m truly baffled by them.

I am having a problem with the tips of my plants turning brown

    • Sharon Sharon on Feb 08, 2020

The most likely cause is your water causing the brown tips. If you use tap water please pour into jug with no cover and allow it to sit and evaporate impurity’s such as calcium and fluoride aprox 24 hours before watering plants. Again, this is the most likely cause of brown tips-your water. Hope this helps.
