How do i organize my hats?
How many do you have? Mine are in hatboxes, and depending upon the style of hat, in many boxes I can store several. Stacked up in my closet with post it notes on them so I know what is in each box.
Several ideas, hope these help:
Hi Felicia - We have our baseball hats on hooks, winter hats in a cubicle bin in the closet, and fancy hats stacked on top. Hope this helps! Hugs, Holly
Hello Felicia! First question - how many hats do you have? If you want to expose them it is really good to have a hook made for hats. I have only winter hats and I have them in my wardrobe but if you want to expose them, as I said, but a hook:)
I use a lot of command hooks on the walls of my closet. This works great to hang as many hats as you have room for.
It will depend on the type and how many. My husband wears "trucker" hats so I put command hooks on the side of the desk and inside the closet. Each hook holds 2 hats.
I like to look for vintage hat stands at thrift shops and antique stores. It's basically just a little wood holder with a rounded part on top that you can put your hat on. Then you can arrange them on a table or shelf.
My husband has a collection of about 10 baseball style caps, I put them in a row in a drawer. First I make the skull portion into a "U" shape bringing the adjustable part forward, do that to all of them and put the bill forward, one behind the other.
Here is a site on proper hat care.
I never use hooks as hats can easily become misshapen in a short time. I have over a 100 from very casual (and inexpensive) to very formal. If cared for, they can last decades. I still have some of my mom and grandmother's from the 40's and 50's in perfect condition.
