I spilled water on my laptop keyboard and opened a few keys. Now I am unable to fix.
You should be able to push your keys back on (assuming you didn't accidentally break their mechanisms).
I tried but it's not wokring. Thanks for the feedback!
I agree. The keys should pop back on. Make sure the laptop is turned off. In the future for any spills. Turn the laptop off. Tilt it to drain any liquid. Support the laptop upside down laying the keyboard on a towel and let it dry out for a few hours to a day.
Hey William, thanks for your valuable suggestions!
You may need to take it to a computer repair shop. Sometimes more damage can be caused by removing things on laptops :)
You are correct, Christina! :(
Hi HomyHolds: Ah geeze, I hate when this happens. If you can, turn the board upside down and use your hair dryer to dry it out or, in the alternative, put it in front of the heater, keys facing it, about 4 inches away, and when the furnace turns on, the warm air will dry things out. The keys should just snap back on. While the keyboard is drying out, go to the store and buy yourself a sippy cup :) That's what I have, I'm a klutz! Good luck
Thanks for yor awesome comment!
See if this works for you.
Hi Cheryl, thank you for the article. It was helpful.
The good news is that you can probably buy a used keyboard or get one for free, for less than the costs of having a shop work on it.
Yeah, I was thiking the same.
You might need to take it to Best Buy to let them check it out
Yeah. it seems I need to. But, I was trying to fix by myself.
