It would depend on if there is an HOA and local ordinances. I would think in general as long as it is not a mess and not against the rules, it would be up the owner's preferences.

  • It depends on where you live. If there is an HOA, there may be guidelines. You may want to check with a neighbor.

I am not sure whether you want to keep doing the work yourself to have your own garden or if you want someone else to be responsible for your garden. In some instances Home Owners Associations do some of the outside maintenance for yards. I would venture to guess that this is a very basic maintenance that doesn't include caring for a flower or vegetable garden. I would assume that a basic maintenance would include grass, trees and shrubs, and trimming and adding mulch and weeding in established shrub beds but not flower care if you are allowed to plant flowers.

You would need to check with your local county about this. In my area if you are a renter you are expected to keep up your own yard/garden.

Yes, whatever jurisdictional agencies are in your neighborhood will have answers on what is a mandated and then you’ll be able to discern from there.

There are often volunteer groups that help elderly or disabled and I found some at the County Courthouse Lobby Receptionist for a friend.

A home owner may be able to continue working a garden. If the work is daunting, you might want to think of hiring someone to help you.

It also might be a matter of what is covered by the 4 corners of the lease/contract you signed. Refer to that. That is what is legal and binding, any modification will have to be in writing and signed by both parties.

People's abilities change over time and so their way of life does too, Find out where you stand and what can be done to adjust.

Hi ! Your question isn't clear on what type of garden flower or food and where it is placed in the yard and who planted it . It would depend on the rules of where you live ...

HOA rules , apartment rules or local ordinances .
