How can I make over this bench?
i thought i seen on hometalk a project with this type bench. it might have been an article with farmhouse interior paint on a living room and the bench in the foreground. looked just like mine but it was painted white. (chalk painted maybe).has anyone seen the project? and any suggestions .i have looked through hundreds of pictures etc. even on another popular site.Thank you.

What is your decor style? You can take this piece in any direction you please. I like it as is, but that's my preference, not yours. From all the perusing of bench options, it can get confusing and overwhelming. Have you thought about going back, printing your favorites, then narrow the field, then go with that option. I can see it with the edges painted a gloss black, painted a single color, painted and stenciled, or even stripped and restained in several different shades.
Von: a project like this with paint would be easy-peasy. Simply prime and paint (or paint with the blend available now.).
Then you could apply a dark wax to "antique" it... or even find some vintage-looking stencils to embellish it.

I had a bench just like that. The first thing I did was buy a medallion to cover up the heart on the front. I then lightly sanded the bench and primed with KILZ. Then I gave it 3 coats of a gray white. It came out great, in fact I ended up selling it.
