Do you need just a little something extra to complete your Valentines Day decor? If so then this is the idea for you. It’s so simple and so inexpensive (less than $5!) and will give any Valentines display a finishing touch.

The only supplies needed are an assortment of ribbon, pink and red envelopes, and an ink pad to antique the edges of the envelopes.

I actually purchased my envelopes at the dollar store! They sell greeting cards that are 2 for a dollar and they come with bright colored envelopes. I chose out cute cards with the color envelopes I needed and plan to use white envelopes (that I already own) for the greeting cards so they are still usable for later events.

Then I took a brown ink pad and rubbed the edges of each envelope along the pad, giving them an antique feel.

I filled each envelope with 4 pieces of paper folded up to give them bulk.

Then, with my assortment of ribbon, I chose the thickest ribbon and tied it around the bundle of letters. Then I added a strand of bakers twine.

Then I cut another strand of bakers twine and laid it on the counter. I then cut 6 to 8 inch pieces of multiple ribbons and placed them crisscross over the bakers twine. I then tied the bakers twine in a tight knot, making a little pompom type topper. I then attached the topper to the stack of letters. (This method for making a cute bow allows you to use less ribbon and even scraps.)

I then trimmed the edges of each ribbon to finish up the look.

I then created a cute tag on my computer. I chose a script font, cut the tag into a rectangle and then cut the end of the rectangle into a tag shape. I then punched a hole in the end of the tag and added it to the top of the stack of letters.

And you’re done! So easy, so cheap, and one of my favorite pieces of heart-day decor!
