I'm sure you've seen the POM POM garlands at Hobby Lobby and Michaels. I figured I could make one for half the cost with the colors that I wanted. Best part is I had all the supplies so I didn't cost anything.

Supply list,

Yarn, your color choice

Size 6.8cm POM POM Maker

Yarn Needle

Scissors

Crochet Needle (Optional)

The first step Is to make the chain, or rope for the garland. Make sure you leave at least 2 - 3 in. To make a slip knot for hanging. We will do this at the end.

For this I made a crochet chain. You can do that or make a braided rope, or even wrap two yarns around to make it thicker. This point of the rope, is for it to be thicker than a single yarn string.

My rope was 5 Feet long.

Now that the rope is completed, we move on to making the POM POM’s.

I used a 6.8 cm sized POM POM maker. I recommend using a POM POM maker over the cardboard technique for this project due to having to threading the pom’s into the rope.

For my 5 foot rope, I made 8 POM POM’s.

Now with the Yarn Needle, thread it through one end of the rope. There is no need to tie the yarn around the needle.

With your first POMPOM find the very middle, there will be a small hole from when you tied the POMPOM together. Thread the needle threw the hole.

Repet this with all the POMPOM's

Now after you have placed all the POMPOM on the thread, its time to make the loops on each end of the rope.

Tie a knot with the extra length in the yard you left from when you first made the rope.

Adjust your POMPOM to where you would like them to sit on the rope

You are DONE!

Thank you for following along. I would love to see yours you make!
