How can I distress a coffee table nicely?

What is the table made out of, and how is it finished?
To gently stress your table, use a fine grit sand paper (I like to use a wide Emery board/nail file) and gently rub it where you want it distressed. Do a little at a time until you are happy with it.
To add to my previous answr... make sure you seal your finished piece with furniture wax so it doesn't scratch or distress further. It will also add a nice sheen, but not too much shine.
Use an emery sanding block and hit the edges to distress. You can add a color of light blue or leave bare wood color. Then seal.

How to Distress Furniture!
Niccole, some people lightly brush on chalk paint OR lightly sand the edges/corners or places that should look worn such as handles with light sand paper. I hope this helps.
You can try lightly sanding only around the edges to give it a minimalist distressed look.
Get fine sand paper and sand edges where you want it to we’re off you could even add another color we’re it is sanded down do edges on legs top sides
