Qw used to do lots of tented ceilings back in the 60s, used 1/2" flat wooden molding pieces from the lumber store to secure the fabric at the wall edges using finishing nails and a staple fun to fasten the fabric on the back of the molding. The fabric had to be long enough to fold over at the center of the ceiling, fed through another piece in creating a knot pattern at the center. Usually used sheer curtain fabric.
