I turned a spare bedroom into a space for me to relax and create.
It's feminine but not too frilly!!
This is the before. It sat vacant for a couple months and turned into a "catch all".
I started by painting three walls in "sugar dust" by ECOS paints. And one wall in a charcoal chalk color.
I then did an "Otomi" stencil using the sugar dust color. I love the ECOS paints. There is absolutely no odor and the coverage is great!!
I really like how it looks like wallpaper.
I shopped the thrift stores (upholstered chair, curtain, bird house etc..) And my home to fill the space.
I purchased the throw rug from Marshall's but other than the paint and rug this project really only cost my time .
I couldn't be happier with how this space turned out!! I may never come out! Lol
Ps. This bird house might just be my favorite part!!
Enjoyed the project?

I just discovered otomi art. The pieces I like best are very colorful, but those sweet primitive shapes call to me wherever they are. A friend’s husband is of Aztec descent and she is doing her room with a tropical Mexican “Frida” vibe and using these figures as well.
