A child's desk. You can paint it or stain it. Lightly sand with 220 grit sandpaper to remove any gloss. Prime with Kilz primer then paint with acrylic latex paint. Three coats of a water based polyurethane to protect the finish. Use a foam roller and foam brush. To stain it lightly sand. Paint with a base coat of tan or light brown paint. The use gel stain and apply with a cloth. Use a paint brush to create a wood grain. Let dry. Three coats of a water based polyurethane.
Hi Rajaa, This could be repurposed in a couple of ways. It could make a great small bookcase. Add a shelf at the very base for large, heavy books, then use the areas already there for additional books. Another use would be as a plant stand. In either case, just paint the piece a color you love. It could be painted to match your walls or painted to be a focal point and used as a decorative piece.
Would like to refinish badly scratched laminate or veneer (not sure which) furniture. Can it be stained or only painted. Right now it is oak colored. Thanks.
I have 5 of these stools and can't get them apart to remove the seat back. The situpon cushion can be unscrewed - but not so the back part. I'm getting so frustrated ...
