I have a glass top stove. How can I clean it safely without scratching it ? There are a few spots that are quite stubborn.

The best thing for stubborn spots is to get a brand new razor blade. If you keep it at a shallow angle, it won't scratch. But first, use your ceramic cooktop cleaner (Weimans makes one). Put a quarter size drop on the cooktop and using a lot of water and Terry cloth rag, scrub in little circles all over. Let this watery mess sit for several minutes then use the blade only on the really stubborn stuff.

Once you have it clean, don't rinse. I know this sounds counterintuitive but those cooktop cleaners contain polymers that bond with the glass and help future food spills to not stick. I use my wet rag to collect debris, then polish it dry with a clean, dry towel
