One giant centerpiece? Or a few smaller centerpieces?
if it is one giant centerpiece, then it needs to be held up in something that will support the vertical weight.
Whether it be a vase, or whether you screw the pieces of birch branches in from the bottom of the base plate, it depends on the scale and the overall height that you need this piece to be.
I can help you with what is called reverse engineering if you give us some more information please.
