How can I fix my granite countertop
They can be repaired with an epoxy/resin, but I think I'd have a professional come in and do it.
Oh dear. While it can be repaired, my vote would be to call in your granite professional so that the repair is completed correctly and prevent further damage.
You could use a crayon the colour to match in with the granite. What you would need to do is fill the gap with the crayon. so soften it an push it in using a pallet knife or wallpaper scraper........Best wishes.
Thanks I’ll try!
Yeah I’d call a pro for this as you want to ensure the damage doesn’t expand.
Hi Kimm: Clean out and de-grease the crack, using denatured alcohol. Set out two separate beads of epoxy filler and hardener on a disposable surface, as much as you think you'll need to fill the crack plus a little more. Mix paint and/or original material shavings into the bead of filler to match the tint of the countertop. Here's a site that might help you out:
Get a Crayon or several different browns, and make a layer.
Mark off the area just surrounding the chip with masking tape. ...
Fill the chipped area with super glue or go to a craft store and buy Instantbond which is the fastest curing high performance cyanoacrylate adhesive Usually found where you can buy model airplanes. Allow the glue to cure for at least 24 hours. Then take a flat construction razor and ant a 90 degree angle scrape off the excess.
Please crawl under the sink, in the cabinet with a flashlight, as this kind of crack is usually due to water infiltration breaking down the cabinet “strut” or framing.
As in fix that first.
It must be super dry and I’d use a hairdryer topside & bottom side, before using an epoxy filler.
epoxy with color will do a job.
