Have you ever seen a reverse canvas and wanted to make one yourself? Well let me show how easy it is.I want to make something cute for my buffet that didn’t cost a lot of money. I had a couple extra canvases on hand that I had picked up at the dollar store, so I decided to use those to make a great project.

What you'll need:

  • glue gun
  • stapler
  • stain
  • scissors
  • sharpie
  • fabric/burlap
  • canvas

Step : Remove the canvas from the frame. I used this handy tool called Tacwise!

Once I removed all of the staples, I was able to take out the woden frame.

I used a paper towel and Minwax stain in Provencial to stain the wooden frame.

I applied the stain on the entire frame, it should look like this!

While the stain dries, I cut the canvas along the fold.

Now you have a nice flat piece of canvas!

Next, staple the piece of canvas to the back of your frame.

Make sure it's tight and nug by pulling the canvas firmly!

Now it looks like the canvas is framed.

To make this canvas Easter related, I added a cute bunny. I cut out a bunny shape using some paper.

I used that shape to trace out the bunny on my fabric. I then cut that out!

I also wanted to back the fabric with burlap, so I traced the bunny on the burlap- but made it just a bit larger!

Glue the fabric onto the burlap.

I then used a sharpie to draw stitch marks all around the bunny.

Next, glue the bunny to your canvas, and make sure it's centered!

Here it is all finished! You can also add a cotton ball tail if you'd like.

What do you think? I love it on my buffet next to my moss bunny! Hope you enjoy it and give it a try! See more at
