Wiping it with alcohol will affect the finish, I don't recommend it.
I've used alcohol to remove the top coat of varnish so I would think you only want to use it if you are planning on doing a refinish.

Hi Dorothy. Make a paste with salt and olive oil. Apply it on the rings on your wooden table. Let it set 24 hrs then come back and wipe it all back up. The salt will draw out any moisture and the olive oil will condition the wood. Repeat if necessary.

You could use Mayonnaise or Toothpaste or Walnut or Metal polish or try a hair dryer! They also make products to do this - Ring 0 way etc............Best wishes.
Toothpaste sometimes does the trick!
