You can make mini barn doors.

  • You could hang sheer curtains. They let in light, but still give some privacy.

Hi Janet! There are several options I like. My favorite is cellular shades. Since they aren't always in the budget (I did a room at a time in our previous house), I have also used Roman shades I bought on clearance, which were nice, and window film (which I still like and use). In our bedroom I have tie up blackout shades, which is the first time I've used them, and I love them. I put them up in the frame with tension rods and they work better than any shade or curtain I have ever put in a bedroom window! Shop around and see what you like.

I got vertical blinds from the home improvement stores. Or you could go with curtains and/or privacy window cling.

You can put tint on your windows depending which side of the house your windows are on, all you have to do is cut the tint the size of the window...it comes in sheets, try it on a small window first if you are not sure. I had 1 inch plastic vertical blinds and they warped because they were facing the EAST side of the house so I had to buy metal blinds and I do not regret it at all....I also have sheer curtains and drapes because in FL it is very hot and I needed to keep something on my front East facing windows, hope this helps..2-13-20

I did away with them in our bedroom and added a window sheer. In the bathroom, I used a twin bed sheet and turned it into window shade.
