#springRefresh2020 How to Colourfully Refresh an Old Mirror Frame
I wanted to try a tribal themed colourful refresh update idea out for a mirror that would be hung under cover on my porch to reflect the outdoors and create the feeling of more space and this mirror frame was screaming out to be prettified! Take a look at what I did!
I began by choosing some lovely pastels in bright and dark colour combinations and dividing the wood frame into squares or rectangles of colour.
I rub the coloured pigments deep into the wood with my finger
I continue to add the coloured pastels around the edges and also colour the edges and inside rim. Then I added white paint pen symbols onto some of the coloured squares to give some depth and interest to the frame.
I do a final rub in to blend in some of the colours on the edges and although I didn’t spray varnish or use a protective layer of spray fix you can easily do this if you feel it’s necessary.
I’m chuffed with the result and a quick and effective way to bring colour into any space.

I have a large white framed mirror that has been begging for transformation. But, sometimes it takes time for that ‘Eureka!’ moment to hit.
Side note: after a recent visit to Mexico, I was inspired to change my white decor to one filled with color. Another reason why your tutorial is so perfect!

I love bright colors and light airy spaces! So, why did I paint my bathroom a gray/green? To match the white, burgundy, gray/green floor tiles from Mexico! I have a very drab wood framed mirror, EUREKA! You answered my what am I going to do with that thing! Well inspired an answer anyway. I love yours but all art is subjective and individual. So if I did it in colors to "match" my bland bath.
