Make Refrigerator Magnets From Small Collectibles

You can make refrigerator magnets out of all kinds of small items. I searched my junk drawer and workshop for fun things to turn into magnets. The magnets are made using everything from seashells to pom poms. Wait until you see the fun pom pom magnets for the kids.

A lot of you guys probably have seashells from beach vacations or some you've purchased at the craft store. They look great as magnets especially if you layer the seashell with a small piece of decorative wood or driftwood.

How cute are the pom pom people magnets? I put those together with small pom poms, googly eyes, and paper straws. The souvenir New Orleans salt shaker is the perfect size for a refrigerator magnet.

The day I made the magnets I searched all my junk drawers and secret stashes for small items to use for the magnets.

I came up with all kinds of things I never would have thought of for magnets.

I pared my selection down to about 17 items and started putting the magnets together.

I used a hot glue gun to adhere the magnets to the items. The magnets are round circular disks with a power force of 6.

Make sure your magnets are strong enough to hold the item and stay on the refrigerator or magnet board.

It only takes a few minutes to put several magnets together. I made magnets out of wine corks, scrabble tiles, and mini flower stems.

I also found tickets from a family trip to Astroworld in 1972. What a great way to display vacation memories.

Checkers, jewelry pieces, and small vintage items make unique magnets.

We live at the beach so I have tons of unique shells and beach glass from over the years. This will be a great craft instead of a game sometime when my girls are home :) I will put the "baby", our only son of 5 children, in charge of gathering and cutting the driftwood for the project. We'll make some magnets for his efforts :)) Love this idea. I'm sure the girls will come up with some other "junk" so they can just be silly lol

Thanks for such a fun idea!!
