How do I affix framing glass to the front cover of an altered book?
I want to make a photo frame out of an altered book, and will cut an insert into the cover so that only a frame is left around the edge. I want to use framing glass to protect what's inside, and have heard this can be done, but am not sure how to fix it in place. Any help would be much appreciated, thank you!

I think a brighter tray, and that matches a throw, and maybe one less pillow. And you can fill a wall with all kinds of things!! A pop of color for a candle, and maybe a couple pillows. They have pillow covers, all colors, and sizes at Amazon. A cloth napkin or two could work for your runner. PS all looks nice now!!!
How about shadowboxing?
For a wood picture frame I would use glazier points. If you added to the back of the cover of the altered book with craft sticks or even popsicle sticks slightly larger than the opening you would have something to push them into and a place to attach backing if you wanted it. I am attaching a link for glazier points and an article that used plastic instead of glass.

Hello Heidi,
You could use timber or board or even Carpet tape to hold it in place. Best wishes.
Hi Heidi,
Here are some photos that will give you and idea of the process to create a frame from the book. The difference with this project vs yours is that the inside pages are removed from this project. However, it can give you some help in figuring out what to do. I hope this helps you with your research. Wishing you the best.

Hello. Hello. I would be skeptical about using glass for a few reasons, mostly glare and safety normally I use a spray sealer or modgepodge on my altered books.
If absolutely necessary—I would back the glass with a layer of poster board to sandwich seal it into place. Hope this helps.
Would it not be safer to use a thin sheet of perspex as the glass and frame it with off cuts of leather. Just an idea.
Hi Heidi. Is it possible to glue the glass down. I would recommend using E6000 or Gorilla Glue for a secure hold. Good luck Heidi.
