Would like to find the best way to remove rust from chrome?
Hi Dave, here's a Youtube video, it uses Coke to get rid of the rust!
Hope this helps
Hi! Coke does work. My husband couldn't believe it when I bought a 2 liter bottle of generic, put his rusty tools in a basin and poured the soda over them. A few hours later with a minor scrub with a green pad and they looked like new. WD 40 works well, too. I've used the WD 40 for things that I couldn't or didn't want to soak. Let it work on the rust, and scrub.
I've used WD 40.
CLR works great.
WD-40 if it is not deep, otherwise fine steel wool. Good luck!
If it hasn't worn through the chrome, I agree with some of the others who recommend WD-40 or generic coke. It mostly depends on whether you can soak the item or not. Coke works best if you can soak the item. WD-40 can be sprayed on and left to sit while it works. It might take more than one application. Just be careful using steel wool or any other harsh scrubber. You don't want to scratch the chrome. Wishing you the best.
