On canvas or actual branches and trees?
Hi Ruth: Do you want to paint actual trees and branches? If so, I'd use spray paint. If you want to paint pictures of trees and branches, then I'd go to the library and see if they have a book by Donna Dewberry. She shows you how to paint just about anything, and the way she shows you is so easy to do and the directions are so easy to follow. I painted a rose bud, and my very first time it really looked like a rose bud! Good luck
Hello! What type of paint are you using ......watercolor or oil or acrylic? The use of a liner brush which is a brush with a very long fibers can be helpful for branches and twigs.
Ruth....You can use spray paint ...turn and spray then let dry and do again...however, you can also use a small paint brush...either works great to me. Good luck
Ruth: It makes a difference what kind of paint you're using... watercolor, acrylic or oil... Here's a tutorial for acrylic:
My grandpa used to paint the bottom 3 feet on each fruit tree with white paint to repeal insects. Is that the type of painting trees you are referring to?
I think we are a little confused about your question. Are you wanting to paint like art trees and leaves? I am including info below for that or are you talking about painting tree trunks on your outside trees?
If you have tree branches you wish to paint for craft purposes, you could use white emulsion paint.
If you want to paint a tree (art) Start at the bottom with a thick stroke of paint going up and tapering off. Then from the trunk brush out tapering off either side of the tree starting at the lowest point and working up both sides of the trunk. Practice makes perfect - You can't look at enough trees for inspiration. Try with a pencil first to get the feel of it. Remember trees like people are not perfect................
Do you want to paint separate branches or is there a problem with the tree?
Do you mean you have a fake plant that you would like to paint? If that's the case, I would use spray paint.
I agree, what are you wanting to paint?
man artistic version of a tree? A real tree?
