How do I clean ink out of a dress?

I got ink out with very hot water and rubbing alcohol on it. Good luck!

I've always used hairspray and a child's toothbrush. You can also use rubbing alcohol.

Having a visual might be helpful to be able to offer the best guidance .....to a help find the best suggestions or potential solution for your ink stain problem.

Place a paper towel under the area with the ink on it, take a clean dry rag and moisten it with rubbing alcohol, blot the ink until it is gone, you might want to move the paper towel underneath to absorb the ink into a clean area. Launder as usual. If the ink is not completely out, repeat the process, but do not dryer dry the dress until the ink is out. The heat of the dryer will set the stain in the fabric.

You will need:

• Rubbing (isopropyl) alcohol (Surgical spirits in the U.K.
• An old towel or print-free brown paper bag
• A rag

Steps

1. Blot up as much ink as possible. To do this, use a paper towel or old white rag and press against the ink stain. Lift the cloth, rotate it, then use a clean area to blot the stain again. Repeat this process until you can’t get any more ink out.
2. Flatten the stained area on an old towel or plain paper bag. Dip a clean rag into rubbing alcohol until it’s wet and dab the stain. Rotate it, so you’re always using a fresh section.
3. Launder. When you can’t get any more ink out of the cloth by dabbing, launder it by hand or in the machine on the hottest setting the fabric can handle. After washing, make sure there’s no stain left before you put it in the dryer.
4. If the stain remains after washing, follow the method below. (Don’t skip the steps above, though. As tempting as that may be, the method above acts as a pre-treatment for the following steps to make them more effective.)

Use aerosol hair spray by spraying directly on ink stain rubbing it out then rinsing. Continue to repeat until all ink has been removed...be careful not to spread the ink to other areas of the affected garment.

Hairspray has always worked for me.

Hi ! If all else fails , try Folex carpet cleaner ! I know this sounds weird , but this stuff gets out all kinds of stains ...ink , make up , dust , wine even dried paint ! I found it at home depot for around $6 . I now keep some in a spray bottle in my laundry room .

isopropyl alcohol or hairspray has always done the trick for me!
