How can I glue ceramic and glass plates onto metal siding?

Thank you, dear, I can't drill holes into my metal siding, and the plate has to be totally fixated to the wall. It also has to stand the elements - I found some adhesive I will test on it. However, holding the entire thing with pressure onto the wall until it is cured is my main problem. The plates are rather heavy.

Use painters tape to hold them in place until the glue dries.

How about using a suction cup grab bar made for use in a shower. The suction cups are extra strong. You can mount it to your siding, set the plate on it (once it has the glue) and then use painter’s tape to hold it in place as William suggested.

Instead of the blue light-tack painters tape, use the green heavy-tack tape. If you use multiple strips both vertically and horizontally, I believe it will hold your plates until the glue dries. Buy a cheap plate from a thrift store that is about the same weight as your plates and tape (no glue) it overnight as a test. If the plate has not fallen when you get up the next morning, you'll know that the tape will hold your valuable plates until the glue dries.
