How can we keep ladybugs out of our farmhouse?

I may try a perimeter around the house if the diatomaceous earth or citrus doesn't get the job done.

Thanks for the link. I like the citrus oil idea and think I will try that. After reading that, I vaguely remember something about it. Hoping it won't intefere with the lavender which I use to keep away stinkbugs. I may also try the mums but it's still too cold for that (28 this weekend). I might though in some cloves or bay leaves if the citrus doesn't cut it. Here's hoping I don't make it smell bad with the combinations.

Since we have 10' ceilings and they are up the walls & on the ceiling, vacuuming doesn't work. I guess I should have added that to the post. I would have thought the cold would get rid of them but it was 28 degrees this weekend and I capture about 30 off a window which I threw in the toilet & flushed. Maybe they are trying to get in from the cold as we enter & exit the house? But oh yes, they do stink! I'll check out the Bug Be Gone if the citrus on another suggestion doesn't work. Thanks!

Wow, that’s an interesting article. I think these may be looking for a warm place. They were dumped too early in my opinion.

Thanks for the article. I already have a spray bottle of soapy water but don't like using it because of the streaks it leaves but if it stops reproduction, I am all for it. I also already have diatomaceous earth, we used to have spider issues. It sounds like it is time for a sprinkling again.

I've got some Sevin but it's granules. I wonder if that would work. I could spray the outside of the house but I don't have any idea how far out we would have to go. We have 85 acres and they drop them by the thousands over all the area. Wondering if I did a perimeter around the house, maybe 150 feet if that would work.

Thanks for the information. I love citrus scents so I'm excited that it might help keep them at bay. I know the farmers need them but I don't have to like it.
