Wrong model, mine is different. I have a .....427..... series 400 washer. The screws come out but the hinge is somehow pressed or fitted tightly into the opening. The manual is very ambiguous.

    • I'm sorry it didn't work out. We did it on our machine and it wasn't as easy as it looked. I agree. Our model is an LG, but the hinge was really in there, it took some work to free it after the screws were out. But we didn't have pins holding it in place. I hope you find a solution.

Hi Bob, you may want to consider calling the manufacturer (or emailing them from their website) I was quite miffed to realize that though my own machine SHOULD be able to reverse the door, it actually isn't possible because of the way the hinge fits.

The process is in the set up manual, but its inadequate. Cust Serv people are essentially useless. You Tube videos are for all older models and diffferent

  • I’d be concerned with doing it wrong and voiding the warranty. Better check with manufacturer

The process, albeit lacking details, is offered in the operator/set-up manual. Problem is the manual lacks needed detail to do the job. Cust Serv rep offered to me a couple of useless ideas: she offered to read the manual to me, she told me to look on You Tabe after I told her had already and there were no videos for my model, and she said I could call a tech for $150 to come do it. Not too helpful

I would check with the manufacturer of your machine as well. I didn't even know this was possible, so am now going to check my machine! It would be great if we could change it around.

Our washer and dryer are Kenmore brand. But I am going to look into it, just because it would be much better for us, if the washer door would open from the other side.

Go to https://www.repairclinic.com/. Put your model number. They have schematics, repair guides, and sell parts. You can Also Google your make and model #.

I believe Electrolux' help line can best assist with this: 1-877-435-3287

  • Our LG dryer door can be flipped but our washer door cannot. It may not be possible due to ensuring a tight seal. I'd keep calling the manufacturer until you reach someone who can actually help you or call the service department of the store you purchased it from. Or, stop in to the store you purchased it from, see if the sales people can direct you to better information.
