I would do either gray or white
Hi Maria, it's pretty much personal preference, but white is very common.
Maria....I agree mine are stained hard wood but I love white and white trim. Good luck
White is pretty! :-)
I have cleaned houses for over 30 yrs and in a lot of the newer homes they are painting interior doors bold and neutral colors to match decor of inside. We just painted our pantry door a lovely blue green color and it adds just the right amount of color to my kitchen which is all neutral colors. I have seen doors painted bright turquoise and orange even. These are decorators picks apparently. I love a glossy white door and trim
I have always painted them white, but they could be matched to your trim if it's cream colored or stained wood. Or you could go bold, with black. It seems to be a trend...
It is entirely a personal preference. I used to go with the color of the room or wall so I would have a door painted blue on one side and cream on the other. Then I went with all my rooms painted a neutral color with trim & doors in white.
What's so fun about doors is how easy it is to change the paint color. On the inside of bedroom doors you can paint them to the person's preference who stays there. Such as a daughter might like bright pink etc.
For the main color of doors that you can see in halls etc. white is extremely popular (as mentioned) personally I went with black on all of my doors and white trim besides. I LOVE them.
In interior design the best is to keep your doors, trim and windows on inside a white or off white. I usually specify Benjamin Moore color Linen White. It's classic and sophisticated to keep it light and neutral.
I prefer white
Do you want to keep it neutral? Or make a statement? An acquaintance of mine just purchased a large old fixer upper. She painted the interior doors high gloss black. With stark white walls. It looks amazing. But the hallways all have a fair amount of natural light, as well as the rest of the home, which does make a difference.
Purely a personal preference. I have mine white in a gloss paint which makes them easy to clean when necessary.
There is no right or wrong, it's your home, do what pleases you.
There is no right answer about what they should be painted as you can paint them any way you wish. Most doors are white or left natural wood but that shouldn't limit you.
I like mine white but a lot of people are using black.
