Turn on the side and add a board along it. You can leave the glass or convert to chicken wire or chalkboard paint. If you leave glass you can write on it with dry erase markers.
Turn the window into a mirror , this can even add extra light to your kitchen , depending on where it's placed . I posted a tutorial on this site called " Mercury glass style mirror " you can just make a plain mirror , by skipping the water and vinegar spray and just using mirror spray paint . I also posted another tutorial called " wall pantry storage solution " showing how to make an easy & quick shelf using a wood board and plumbing pipe . You could combine both , put up a shelf and put your window mirror on it !
Hi ! Here is a picture of my window made into a mirror and my pipe and wood shelves . Remember , the mirror doesn't have to be vintage looking and both the wood and or pipe can be painted any color . Also the pipes come in copper , as well .
Could you attach the shelf to the bottom of the old window and use as a shelf. I like the idea of spray painting with mirror paint as well. That way you can attach it to a wall. That spray mirror paint has such a cool effect.
Add or spray a mirror finish to the glass, Paint the glass with glass paint to make stained glass, use as a giant picture frame by placing pictures behind the glass. Stick assorted fabric to the glass and make a picture or stick dried or silk flowers to the glass. Enjoy the journey...............

You can add mirror, photos and or art into the window openings. Hang over a shelf that is similar in finish as the window. Sounds like a nice project.
