Here's a recipe that I've used in the past: https://www.theverge.com/2020/3/2/21161346/hand-sanitizer-diy-how-to-hand-wash-cdc-alcohol-virus-illness
You could then add a drop or two of your favorite essential oil for a slight fragrance. A few drops of tea tree oil could be used as well as it is a disenfectant. Mix it all up and place is a pump or squeeze bottle. Maybe place some in a small squeeze bottle to take along with you when out in public. A good hand-washing is always useful to keep germs at bay.

2/3 cup 99% isopropoly alcohol
1/3 cup aloe vera gel
Hi Ginny: From what I understand, making your own hand sanitizer isn't as effective as the store bought product as it doesn't contain as much alcohol. Also, it's cheaper at the dollar store, is already in a bottle and there's no mess:) But, if you want to give it a try, check this site:
Hi Ginny - This DIY sanitizer is all-natural and does NOT include alcohol! It's super easy and takes approximately 30 seconds to make. Hope this helps! Hugs, Holly

If you are looking for an alternative to store bought due to the shortage, do some research on the ingredients for the different recipes since since some recipes are good antibacterial but not necessarily anti viral. Depending on your needs some may be better suited for you personally than others :) However be cautious because the recommended 60% isopropoly alcohol per the CDC can have a drying effect on your hands resulting in cracking, which open wounds defeat the purpose so make sure it has a good moisturizing agent like aloe to help balance that. Hope this helps.
